KABAN SAYS ANTI-GRAFT BODY'S PROBE ON HIM FINISHED

Medan, N Sumatra, Aug 30 (ANTARA) - Forestry Minister MS Kaban said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had finished investigatig him over his alleged involvement in the illegal Bank Indonesia (BI) funds distribution case.
"It is already finished," the minister said on arrival at Polonia airport here on Saturday. He was replying to a reporter's question on the follow-up of the KPK investigation into the allegation that he had also received part of the BI funds illegally distributed to lawmakers in 2003.
But the minister was reluctant to explain the continuation of the legal process in his case.
"What else? It's finished," he said, leaving a group of reporters who had crowded around him.
Kaban was reported to have ignored KPK summonses two times in connection with the BI fund distribution to lawmakers amounting to Rp100 billion.
The case has trapped BI governor Burhanuddin Abdullah who is now being tried in court.
In a corruption court session some time ago, a suspect in the illegal BI fund distribtion case, Hamka Yandhu, had said in his testimony that Kaban also received Rp300 million of the funds when he was a member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) in 2003.
Besides Kaban, Yandhu said, Minister for National Development Planning/Chairman of the National Development Board (Bappenas) Paskah Suzetta also received part of the money.
Yandhu said that Suzetta who at the time was chairman of House Commission IX had received Rp1 billion.***
