Karbala Governor: cooperation with Integrity Commission continues to end corruption

Karbala (NINA) – Governor of Karbala, Amaluddine Al Hir, reiterated that the local government together with the integrity commission is working to put an end to corruption in the governorate.

During celebrating the opening of the engineering department at Karbala Health Department, the governor added, in a statement to NINA, that the integrity commission has helped us to lessen financial and administrative corruption from 15% to 2.6%,” assuring they will continue fighting corruption.

Thousands of protesters demonstrated on Tuesday, April 12, accusing the integrity commission of overlooking corruption dossiers of high level official, the protesters also threw stones toward the integrity commission HQ in the province, the police managed to prevent the demonstrators from entering the building.
