Alawi: objecting the return of baathist teachers similar to the former regime expel of non-baathists

Baghdad (NINA) – Head of the White Iraqiya Slate, Hassan Al Alawi, said objecting the return of teachers who were considered as baathists to their jobs is a shameful stance backed by vengeance desire, Alawi told NINA.

“I feel really sorry when a political or religious foundation objects to the return of a teacher to his job. Those peoples’ objections to the Ministry of Education’s decision of returning the teachers who were considered as baathists is similar to the former regime’s decision of expelling the non baathists. Those people joined the baath because the law at that time forced them to be baathists or stay out of the education domain, out of the Baathification Ideology,” Alawi said on Tuesday.

“The poor layer in the Iraqi society is that of teachers,” Alawi added, wondering why would some people prevent the teacher from doing his job? at the time that unemployment is spreading, which produces terrorism.

He went on saying “where is the talk about political reconciliation, when you fail to allow a teacher back to his job in a village school? Is it possible that a teacher would be talking about baath to his students?”

He concluded saying “it is hurtful if the reason behind the objection to those people’s return is vengeance, they can do that to the commanders of baath, not the teachers, because they are unarmed, do not know anything about bribery, corruption, and routine, they just perform the daily, weekly, and annually programs they have,” asking “is there any better employee in Iraq than teachers? It is outrageous stance against a poor devastated layer of society.”
