UNDP Representative presents credential to Foreign Minister of Laos
VIENTIANE,APRIL 6.(KPL)- New United Nations Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Programme Resident Representative Minh Pham yesterday presented credentials to the Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongloun Sisoulith.
At an amicable talk, Mr. Thongloun expressed his appreciation on the appointment of Mr. Minh to be new Resident Coordinator of the UN and Resident Representative of the UNDP in the Lao PDR.
Mr. Thongloun briefed the new UN Coordinator on the socio-economic development of the Lao PDR and the 7th socio-economic development plan and cooperation plan between Laos and UNDP in years to come as well as the government effort in achieving the Millennium Development Goals in 2015.
Mr. Thongloun expressed his belief that Mr. Minh would further enhance the cooperation between Laos and UNDP.
Mr. Minh told the host that he would do his utmost in cooperating with the Lao government on the implementation of the cooperation projects between the organizations under the UN system and the Lao government.
