Shaways, American Ambassador discuss means to consolidate political, economic cooperation
Baghdad (NINA) – Deputy Prime Minister, Rowsch Shaways, discussed with US Ambassador in Baghdad, James Jeffrey, means to consolidate bilateral cooperation in political and economic fields and the spheres of developing them for both countries' joint interests.
A statement issued on Monday, Apr. 4, by the Deputy Prime Minister's Office said that in the meeting Shaways has also discussed with the American Ambassador possibilities to exchange technological experience and consolidate trade exchange as well as cooperation in cultural field.
In the meeting Shaways renewed Iraq's keenness to establish good and balanced relations with all countries, including the United States.
The two discussed also measures to consolidate capabilities of the Development Fund of Iraq and the government's efforts, as well as the ministerial committee charged to protect Iraq's funds, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Rowsch Shaways.
For his part, Ambassador Jeffrey asserted the United States government commitment to provide technical support and help developing Iraq's expertise and support its economic openness toward international markets, as well as urging firms to enter Iraqi market.
