Zebari, British official discuss Iraq's political situation, region

Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, discussed with British Minister of State for the Near East Affairs, Ulster Bird, the situation in Iraq and the region.

A statement issued on Thursday, Mar. 31, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two discussed also Iraq's participation in London Conference over Libya, which marks Iraq's return to the international forums and that Iraq's voice is becoming heard through out international medium.

It point out that Zebari presented Iraq's vision over the region's political developments and the increased demands by their people of their rights for democracy and peaceful change.

It pointed out that the talks touched on the results of the frank professional negotiation of Iraqi ministerial delegation to Kuwait.

The statement added that Zebari expressed Iraq's government seriousness in dealing with remaining UN resolutions under Article VII related to relation between Iraq and Kuwait, saying that he requested the support of SC members to close the file.
