Female candidates for National Assembly election promoted

VIENTIANE,MARCH 29 (KPL) - National Assembly, on 28 to 29 March, held a two-day seminar on promoting and upgrading capacity for 47 female candidates, who will apply for the upcoming 7th general election of National Assembly, is scheduled for 30 April.
The seminar was attended by Mrs Pany Yatortou, a Politburo member who is also the President of National Assembly, members of National Assembly and 47 female candidates.
Mr. Pany said that the seminar is aimed at improving capacity of women to firmly grasp the significant duties of national legislature body and rights equality between female and male in national assembly.
They have also shared a point of views on being people’s deputies in each constituency, public speech and election campaign.
“This seminar is also aimed at ensuring the accomplishment of National Election Committee for National Assembly as planned and the increasing of 30 per cent of female seats in the upcoming National Assembly,” she said.
