Mutlaq, Turkish Foreign Trade Minister discuss consolidating economic cooperation

Baghdad (NINA) – Deputy Prime Minister, Saleh al-Mutlaq, discussed on Monday, Mar. 28, with Turkey's Minister of Foreign Trade, Zafer Caglayan, means to consolidate economic cooperation between the two countries and spheres of its development in the service of both countries' people.

The Deputy Prime Minister's Office said that in the meeting Mutlaq asserted the deep relations between the two countries that are based on history and civilization as well as good neighboring.

Mutlaq added that the relations between Iraq and Turkey are not new and Turkey's stance has always been positive and dealt with the Iraqis in an objective way to preserve its unity.

He pointed out that Turkey has become a symbol for economic work, which Iraq seeks to work with it toward establishing strong bilateral relations.

Mutlaq announce that both sides have agreed to open several border outlets to facilitate the exchange of goods and help Iraqi and Turkish investors to expand investment plans and trade, as well as to establish joint ventures.

For his part, the Turkish minister said that his visit to Iraq comes within the frames of consolidating the relations between both countries and open wide spheres for trade as well as establishing joint projects.

He pointed out that the meeting touched on means to urge Turkish investors comes to Iraq to participate in its reconstruction scheme. / End.
