Shahristani renews call on Italian companies to work in Iraq
Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqi Deputy Premier, Hussein Shahristani, discussed with the Deputy Speaker of the Italian Parliament, and the accompanying delegation, means of developing relations between the two countries in different aspects.
A statement issued by Shahristani office said the Deputy Premier renewed his call upon Italian firms to work in Iraq, especially after the security improvement Iraq is witnessing, appreciating “the Italian role, as well as the international role, in protecting the Libyan people from the Gaddafi assaults.”
For his part, the Italian official, Maurizio Lobe, hailed “the democratic regime in Iraq,” expressing “Italy’s desire to expand cooperation horizons to contribute in Iraq’s reconstruction.”
