Laos vows to create the rule of law

VIENTIANE,MARCH 22 .(KPL) - The Lao PDR pledged to further focus on establishing the state of law of people and for people, said Vice President of National Assembly, Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane.
“The establishment of the state of law is a new challenge and a prolonged issue for our country,” he added. “It is a main obligation of the Party and government and all walks of life to do”.
This was a statement of Mr. Xaysomphone reported at a recent 9th Party Congress.
The Party Cell members of the National Assembly would cooperate with all organizations to implement seriously the general directions of Party, he said.
He has also highlighted the National Assembly (the 6th legislative body) has approved different laws, socio-economic development plans and state budget, important positions of the Government and some mega investment projects in Laos.
The most emerging one, the 6th legislative body has succeeded to approve 50 draft laws such as economy, culture, society, public security and national defence, public administration and justice.
Out of above mentioned laws, of which 21 were amended laws and 29 new laws.
The State Inspection Authority, a new organisation has just been approved by the NA, inspecting the state budget payment in central and local levels, based on the law on state budget.
The NA members of each constituency have so far conducted various campaigns to disseminate the results of each meeting of the National Assembly meeting to local people.
The NA has also helped victims who have been affected by natural disaster and epidemic impact in many areas, by sending the medical teams with medicines and equipments.
Based on the materialization of the resolution of the 9th Party Congress as well as the supervision of the Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party is to focus on four breakthroughs over the next five years (2011-2015).
