International Expo on biodiversity in Pakistan

QUETT, March 22, 2011 (PPI): Pakistan Science Foundation as taking concrete measures for equipping young generation with modern and contemporary scientific knowledge and science research and concerned organisations development, their financial assistance and training of scholars.

These views were expressed by Chairman Pakistan Foundation Manzoor Hussain Soomro while speaking at International Expo on Biodiversity organized in collaboration with Pakistan Science Foundation, French Embassy and University of Baluchistan here Tuesday.

He Sid Science Foundation was setting up 15 new science centers in the country and two of them would be in Baluchistan. I T University have provided land for these centers.

Manzoor Soomro said that Science Foundation was working at different levels for the promotion and development of science in the country. He said its real objective is to develop scientific awareness among the students of schools, colleges, universities, scholars and people and today’s function is part of it. He asked scholars, students and people present at the expo to benefit from this exhibition.

He said that it was also organizing essay writing and posters competitions among students of schools and colleges and educational boards of the country while in schools and colleges science laboratories difficulties and supply of scientific equipment was also being paid special attention.

Pro VC University of Baluchistan Dr Mehrab Baloch said that University would extend every possible cooperation to Pakistan Science Foundation for development of science in the province. He appreciated Science Foundation for holding exhibition and its performance and hoped that scholars and students would benefit from this scientific exhibition.
