9th Party Congress held in Vientiane
Vientiane, March 17. (KPL) - The 9th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party is held this morning in Vientiane with the participation of 576 delegates representing 191,700 Party members across the country.
Running till March 21, the meeting will learn the political report by the Party Central Executive Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the exchange of viewpoints on the report by the participating delegates, evaluating the materialization of the resolution of the 8th Party Congress over the past five years.
The evaluation is focused on the political stability, public security, economic growth, social and cultural development, foreign policy and Party capacity building. The meeting will also discuss the social economic development plan for the next five years (2011-2015), which is designed to ensure the political stability, public security and annual economic growth rate of at least 8 per cent.
