Govt to impose corruption tax after flood surcharge levy: Barrister Saif

ISLAMABAD, March 16, 2011 (PPI): Secretary General of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that government would impose corruption levy after flood surcharge tax leaving the masses to pay the price of rulers’ poor performance.

In a statement issued here from the APML Central Secretariat, he pointed out that the performance of the incumbent rulers have been witness to the fact that they have delivered nothing to the masses except inflation, unemployment mounting corrupting and it seems that the government has been working on the agenda to eliminate the poor instead of poverty from the country.

The self-acclaimed leading political party despite its tall claims for the rights of people has focused attention to satisfy its cronies by liquidating national exchequer to satisfy the interests of its political partners, he added.

“After imposing 15% flood surcharge tax, 2.5% excise duty and 2% increased electricity rates there has been no vagueness that the government will impose 10% corruption levy” Saif said.

APML General Secretary further stated that the government has mounted non-developmental expenditures to such an extent that they are exploring new tactics now to mint money from the poor masses while on the other side, the government spend nothing for the development of the masses except hollow slogans, Saif maintained.
