Prime Minister voices sympathy in wake of Japan tsunami
VIENTIANE,MARCH 11.(KPL)- Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong on Friday sent a message of sympathy to his Japanese counterpart Naoto Kan over the powerful tsunami that hit Japan’s northeast coast.
The message read “I have learned of the earthquake and terrible tsunami that hit the northeast coast of Japan on March 11, causing serious loss of lives, property and infrastructure.”
“On behalf of the government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Your Excellency and to the people of Japan, particularly the families of the victims of the disaster.”
“Through the helpful efforts of the government of Japan, I am confident that the situation and living conditions of all those affected will soon be restored to normal.”
