World Vision gives 8 bln kip for education in Luang Prabang’s remote areas
VIENTIANE,MARCH 11.(KPL)- An agreement on financial support for the improvement of education of ethnic people in Luang Prabang was signed in the province last Friday between World Vision Luang Prabang Team Leader Grant Power and Director of the Luang Prabang Provincial Grassroots Building and Rural Development Office, Mr. Somphath Phonthilak.
Witnessing the signing event was Minister to Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Bounheuang Douangphachanh and relevant officials of both sides.
The grant programme is expected to benefit people in 24 villages of Phonesay district. It is aimed at improving education of ethnic people mainly children in school age and their poverty reduction and rural development between Feb 2011 and Feb 2015.
