MP demands re-elections if Talabani did not apologize

Baghdad (NINA) – Head of the Iraqi Arab Gathering, Abdul Kareem Al Jubouri, said “if President Jalal Talabani did not apologize to the Iraqi people for his statement about Kirkuk, we will demand re-elections of parliament which was built on wrong foundation as it bases on sectarian and racial quota.”
He stated to NINA “the president should respond to the parliament demands and attend a parliament session to explain and apologize to the people for the statement he gave about Kirkuk. The statement expressed narrow horizon and did not reflect a president.”
MP from Iraqiya Slate added “the status quo of the political process reflects that the politicians prefer theirs and their parties’ interests to the Iraqi people’s interests,” pointing out that the re-election should be carried out to meet Iraqis’ demands who lost trust in its representatives.
