National University holds Library Week
VIENTIANE,MAR 03.(KPL) -The National University (NUOL) in cooperation with the World Bank opened the 4th Library Week with a motto “Knowledge is Power, Library is Yours” on March 1 at its main campus in Dong Dok, Vientiane.
The event is aimed at raising the importance of access to information and learning from print and non-print media.
The opening ceremony for the Library Week 2011 was attended by Vice-President of the NUOL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phetsamone Khounsavath and the World Bank Country Manager Keiko Miwa along with relevant officials and students of the university.
Over 20 state bodies, international organisations and NGOs have their booths at the event held between 1 and 3 March. The event is open to all public members.
The event features games playing, art performance as well as lecture on library use and information access at library.
