Office members of National Assembly leave for Japan
VIENTIANE,FEB 25.(KPL) - A send-off party for 20 office members of the Lao National Assembly was held in Vientiane Capital on 25 February.
This is a youth exchange programme called JENESYS for the Asia and Pacific region, organised and sponsored by the understanding of the parliamentary systems in Japan and to expand human exchange between the office staff of the National Assemblies of Laos and Japan.
They left for Japan on 26 February for an eight-day visit to Japan.
The delegation was selected from key young members from the Foreign Affairs Department, Administration and Financial Department, Law Department, Economic Planning, and Finance Department, Social-Cultural Affairs, Ethnic Affairs, Research and Reference, Personnel Department, as well as the Information and Library Centre.
Members of the delegation will play important roles in the future.
During their eight days in Japan, the delegation will visit the National Diet Building and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo. Also they will attend Ibaraki Prefectural Assembly as observers.
Several lectures and on-site studies are scheduled allowing opinion exchanges with their counterparts. The delegation will also call on the Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture and the Mayor of Moriya City.
The party was held and Mr. Viseth Svengsuksa, Deputy-Chief of the Cabinet of the National Assembly has expressed his hope that the mutual understanding between Laos and Japan will be further promoted through this exchange. The party was also attended by members of the National Assembly, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Japan in Vientiane.
