NA Chair urges better preparation for April’s elections
Vientiane, feb 22.(KPL) President of the National Assembly Pany Yathortou has urged relevant authorities in Sayabouly, Louang Namtha and Oudomsay provinces to attach greater attention to the preparation for the election to National Assembly to be held at the end of April.
Meeting with the authorities in the said provinces between 16 and 18 February, Ms. Pany Yathortou, who also serves as Vice-Chairwoman of National Committee for General Election to the National Assembly urged the gathering to pay attention to the national defense and public security affairs as well as the resolution of social ills.
She urged the relevant authorities to make sure that they have chosen personnel with qualified qualities and abilities to monitor and facilitate the election at ballot stations.
She said that the relevant authorities should ensure that all eligible voters casted their votes and there were no mistaken votes and ballot absentees.
Ms. Pany spoke of the achievement and efforts by local authorities in preparation for the coming election to the National Assembly.
