Laos, Vietnam further cooperation on public security
VIENTIANE,FEB 21.(KPL) - Laos and Vietnam have renewed their agreement on political defence and public security to ensure safety for Lao and Vietnamese people.
The agreement on further cooperation between the two countries was signed by Mr. Thongbanh Seng-aphone, Minister of Public Security of Laos and Mr. Le Hong Anh, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam in Vientiane, on February 21, 2011.
The signing took place following their bilateral meeting during the working visit to Laos by the Vietnamese Minister of Public Security between 20 and 23 Feb, 2011.
At the bilateral meeting, both sides reviewed the implementation of their cooperation projects over the past five years and exchanged and shared common views on public security affairs.
The cooperation between the two ministries of Laos and Vietnam also includes capacity building of security personnel, logistics, drug control and inspection and the keeping of security and orderliness in provinces along the common border of Laos and Vietnam.
