2 Servicemen killed in Baghdad, Anbar
Baghdad (NINA) – In two separate statements, the US Department of Defense announced on Saturday, the death of two servicemen in non combat related incidents.
The First statement said that Airman 1st Class Corey C. Owens died on Feb. 17, in Al Asad Air Base, Anbar porovince, due to non-combat incident.
The second statement said that Spc. Lashawn D. Evans, died on Feb.15, in Baghdad in a non-combat related incident. "He was assigned to the 1st Attack Reconnaisance Battalion, 1 Aviation Regiment Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantary Division."
The death of both servicemen brings the total number of American soldiers killed in Iraq since the invasion on 2003 up to 4438, of them 8 killed in the current year of 2011.
