Pakistan hands over 35 Indian prisoners at Wagah border

Lahore, Aug 16 PPI: Pakistan on Friday handed over 34 Indian fishermen and a civilian prisoner to Indian authorities, who had been arrested for allegedly entering Pakistani waters in the Arabian Sea.

The young fishermen aged between 12 to 17 were handed over to Indian officials atthe Wagah border, near Pakistani city of Lahore.

Pakistan says the fishermen were released as a goodwill gesture on the IndependenceDay of India.

Some freed Indian fishermen said they were treated well in detention at a Karachiprison. They were Lahore, capital city of Punjab province in a bus.

Indian diplomats and members of fishermen society were present when the fishermencrossed the border to join families.
