3 car bomb explosions shake Kirkuk ; 6 killed 36 injured

Kirkuk (NINA) – Three car bombs exploded in Kirkuk province on Wednesday morning, killing six persons and injuring 36 others among them commander of the Patrol Police Department in Kirkuk.
A source from the Joint Operations Center in Kirkuk reported to NINA “A car bomb driven by a suicide bomber exploded at the entrance of a headquarter for the Kurdish Security Forces “Asayish” in Wasiti neighborhood of central Kirkuk, to kill five persons among them a Kurdish security element, and injuring 28 persons, among them two Kurdish security elements.”
Another car bomb, parked near a fuel station in western Kirkuk, exploded while the motorcade of Kirkuk police commander Colonel Ahmed al-Shimirani was passing by, injuring him and killing one of his guards as well as injuring three police elements and damaging several vehicles, the source added.
The source mentioned that “The third car bomb, which was parked near Turkmen party headquarter, exploded, injuring four police elements and causing material damage for near by vehicles and buildings.”
