National Assembly prepares for upcoming general election

VIENTIANE,JAN 18.(KPL)- The National Committee for the Seventh General Election of National Assembly Members held a training course for core carders nationwide to prepare for the upcoming general election of National Assembly members (seventh legislature), which is scheduled for at the end of April.
The training course was presided over by new President of National Assembly, Mme Pany Yathortou, which is aimed at upgrading knowledge of National Assembly members of each constituency countrywide and core cadres on Party and Government’s policy and guideline on general election, politics, enhancement of ownership of Lao people in the national safeguarding and construction.
It also improved the system of state power of people’s democracy as well as the implementation of Lao people’s rights and obligations in the coming general election of seventh legislature of the National Assembly members.
“This training course is a fundamental event, which will be further carried out widely for all social strata nationwide, particularly people aged above 18 years old to understand the Party’s policy and the law of Lao PDR, and focus on promotion of socio-economic development, poverty reduction and ensure Lao people’s rights to contribute to the seventh general election of National Assembly members,” said Mme Pany.
A four-day training course, the participants will learn a resolution of the politburo members of Party Central Committee involving in the seventh general election of National Assembly members, obligations of Lao people for general election of National Assembly members, national unity, rule of law and guideline on national committee and sub-committee for general election.
