‘Iran has infiltrated Israel’s spy networks’

TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) -- Iran`s Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said that the Iranian intelligence service has managed to penetrate deep into Israel’s spy networks, and he also announced that 10 people linked to these networks have been arrested.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s intelligence service has managed to infiltrate into the Mossad’s spy networks by using advanced domestically developed technologies,” Moslehi said at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.

The intelligence minister, who was elaborating on the Iranian intelligence agency’s investigation into the assassination of Iranian particle physicist Masoud Ali-Mohammadi, said that the Iranian intelligence forces have been able to gain dominance over the Zionist regime’s intelligence service and have made great achievements.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was behind the assassination of Masoud Ali-Mohammadi, who was killed in a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran in January 2010.

The Intelligence Ministry “managed to identify and arrest a network of spies and terrorists linked to the Zionist regime,” the statement read.

Professor Ali-Mohammadi, who taught at Tehran University, was killed by a remote-control bomb attached to a motorbike. The bomb was detonated near the professor’s home in the Qeytariyeh neighborhood of northern Tehran.

Iran’s intelligence agency managed to identify and smash the enemy’s spy networks through carrying out sophisticated intelligence operations, Moslehi explained.

Through these operations, not only were the elements behind the Ali-Mohammadi assassination identified but some other spy networks linked to Mossad were also tracked down and 10 people connected with these networks were arrested, he said.

The investigation into the Ali-Mohammadi assassination revealed that a network of spies and terrorists, who were trained in Israel, was involved in the assassination, he added.

Moslehi also stated that the Zionist regime’s intelligence bases in neighboring countries have been identified, and the Iranian intelligence service set up intelligence bases near the Israeli bases and managed to deal a heavy blow to Israel’s intelligence service through these bases.

He emphasized that Iran will certainly continue to conduct intelligence activities to counter the Zionist regime’s intelligence operations.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Moslehi said that the Intelligence Ministry has access to some documents and evidence proving that the Zionist regime is seeking to prevent Islamic countries, and particularly Iran, from making scientific progress.

So all prominent scientists of regional countries could become targets of the Zionist regime’s assassins, he stated.

Addressing the leaders of regional countries, he said that any interaction with the Zionist regime is a threat to the security of the region.

The Zionist regime has set up bases in the region for launching intelligence and terrorist operations, and this will harm the region, he noted.
