TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA)-- Asked about the case of a female spy arrested on January 5, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said the issue was not an important one so “our official authorities did not take any stance.”
The border police dealt with the issue and the case was ended, he added.
Haley Talayan, 34, was arrested on January 5 by the border police officers in border town of Nordouz. She had illegally entered the country through borders with Armenia. She was found with espionage equipment, including a recording device hidden in her teeth.
