Maoists attack India, say NC acting on South Block's diktats

Kathmandu, Aug 11 (PTI) Frustrated by their repeated
failure to form a government, Maoists have now accused India
of manipulating the Nepali Congress which they blamed for the
current political impasse.

"The Nepali Congress is listening to the South-Block,
India's foreign ministry more than the real stakeholders of
the Nepali Politics," Dev Gurung, a Maoists senior leader said
after the former rebels missed two deadlines set by the
president to build a government by consensus.

"The Nepali Congress is tying to foil the entire peace
process which the NC men are doing as per the diktats of the
foreign power centres," he was quoted Sunday as saying
by Telegraph Nepal

Attacking the Nepali Congress, which is now reportedly
insisting on having the Defence portfolio in the new
government, Gurung said the party was acting on the orders of
its "masters" in New Delhi.

The Nepali Congress of caretaker prime minister Girija
Prasad Koirala had dominated the country's democratic polity
till it was pushed to the second spot by the former rebels in
the April 10 Constituent Assembly elections.

"The NC while demanding the Ministry of Defence is in
fact serving its masters seated in New Delhi's South Block,"
Gurung said.

controlling the military without disbanding their parallel
guerrilla force or the Peoples' Army. PTI RT
