Vietnamese, Lao legislators meet

Ha Tinh (VNA) - Chairman of the Vietnam National Assembly's Committee for External Affairs Nguyen Van Son held talks with his Lao counterpart Saysomphone Phomvihane, who is also Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly, in central Ha Tinh province on August 4.

The two sides reiterated that Vietnam and Laos will continue to foster their special relations to ensure peace and stability in the region as well as support each other in socio-economic development and the maintenance of national defence and security.

They also informed each other about the implementation of bilateralcooperation agreements, discussed measures to intensify cooperation between the two legislative bodies and exchanged experiences in their activities relating to regional and international issues.

Secretary of the Ha Tinh Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that Ha Tinh will do its best to boost cooperation and support to its neighbouring Lao provinces of Bolikhamsay and Khammoune in forestry, agriculture, health care, education and border security.-Enditem
