Yemen vice-chairman of Arab Fighting Corruption Network

SANA'A, July 31 (Saba) - Yemen has been chosen to be the vice-chairman of the Arab Network on Enhancement of Integrityand Fighting Corruption launched last Wednesday in Jordan.

During the conclusion meeting of the regional conference on "Enhancing Cooperation among Anti-Corruption Authorities and Developing Preventative Mechanisms, the representatives of 19 Arab official authorities have chosen chairman of the JordanianAnti-Corruption Commission Abid al-Shakhanba as chairman of the Network for one year and the chairman of the Yemeni Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC) Ahmed al-Anesi as the first vice-chairman and the Mauritanian General Inspector as the second chairman.

The network aims to establish relations of communication and cooperation between Arab policymakers and those interested in fields of anti-corruption and enhancement of integrity.

It also seek to reinforce transparency and accountability in a practical, effective and coordinated way as well as deepening dialogue of policies and the operations of building capacities and knowledge at the regional level in various areas of enhancement of integrity, transparency, accountability and anti-corruption.

The conference was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (NUDP) in collaboration with the Jordanian Anti-Corruption Commission.
