Yemeni-Syrian 1st investment meeting starts activities in Damascus

DAMASCUS, July 30 (Saba)- Director general of the General Authority of Investment Marwan Faraj Bin Ghanem has said that Yemen is rich with investment opportunities in various fields and thecurrent investment climate in Yemen encourages local and foreign investors.

In his speech delivered on Monday during the inauguration of the 1st Yemeni-Syrian Investment Meeting activities in Damascus, which is organized by Yemeni- Syrian general authorities of investment, he reviewed merits of Yemeni Investment Law andgovernmental steps which exerted for the sake of improving investment environment.

He hailed the level of development of the Yemeni-Syrian relations, confirming necessity to implement joint investment projects between the two countries to boost economicties and to reach it to advanced levels.

On the other side, deputy chairman of Yemeni General Union of Yemeni Chambers of Industry and Commerce- chairman of Aden Industry and Commerce Chamber Moahmmed Omer Ba-Mashmouscalled Syrian investors and businessmen to invest in Yemen.

The meeting, which is participated by a big number of investors and businessmen from the two countries and Arab investors, started its activities on Monday in Damascus and attended by Syrian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardary who confirmed the necessity to boost economic ties between Yemen and Syria and to advanceit to higher levels.
