Yemen to host meeting of Gulf Health Ministers

SANA'A, July 30 (Saba)- Well-informed sources said on Monday that Yemen has been chosen to be the venue and host for the 66thmeeting of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council's states on 3-4 February 2009.

The sources said that a preparatory committee headed by Health Minister Abdul-Karim Ras'a had discussed a number of topics relation to preparations for the GCC Health Ministersmeeting to be held in Sana'a.

The meeting will be attended by Gulf Health Ministers and heads of internationalorganizations interested in healthy affairs in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Ras'a stressed the importance of good and diligent preparation for the meeting as well as selecting scientific topics and work papers to be submitted for the Sana'ameeting.

In their summit in 2001, the GCC leaders approved the entrance of Yemen in four GCC major institutions: The GCC Arab Educational Bureau, the Council of Labour and SocialAffairs Ministers, Council of GCC Health Ministers, and Gulf Football Cup.

Yemen will host the next session of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, and the20th Gulf Cup football championship in 2010.
