Security foils robbery attempt of antique site in Dhamar

DHAMAR, July 30 (Saba)-Security apparatus in Masna'a Maria Antique Site in Ans district here foiled robbery attempt of the site.

The attempt is the second during two months. General Authority for Antiques and Museums' (GAAM) Dhamar Branch Director Ali al-Sanabani told Saba that he received a notice from Ans Antique Office on some antique robbers attempt to stealth into the site and starting digging process in the site's westernarea.

He affirmed that guards of the site have foiled the attempt and arrested one of therobbers and two others were accompanying him are being cracked down.

al-Sanabani added that concerned bodied in the district and the governorate have been noticed and that seized assets have been submitted to district department for investigationand arresting the rest of criminals.

He noted that the GAAM's branch here has received during the first half of current year more than 30 notices on existence of random diggings to antique sites in a numberof districts here.

He clarified that the US antique delegation had concluded last June archeological survey in Masna'a Maria area and discovered important results unearthed important ageof Yemen's history.
