Up 190 investment projects licensed in Aden free zone

ASEN, Sep. 13 (Saba)- The
number of projects licensed by the General Authority for Free Zone in Aden (GAFZ)
during the
period from 1999 until midyear of 2010, were 198 investment projects.
The GAFZ said that the cost of these projects amounted to US$1.36 billion, and they
provided 8068 jobs for local workers.
National investments topped the list of those investments, when there were 150
investment projects by 76 percent of the total number of the licensed projects, and
about
51 percent of the total investment, followed by 34 foreign investments.
In addition, the joint foreign and national investments were 14 projects. those
investments included the fields of 63 industrial projects, 51 services projects, 31
trade
projects, 24 housing projects, 20 storage projects, 8 tourist projects and one
project of manifold activities.
The GAFZ added that the total value of investments carried out at the level of
development and infrastructure projects during the period 1996-2009, amounted to
US$270 million.
