SCER discusses mechanism for Education Ministry staff selection

SANA'A, Sep. 01 (Saba) - The Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum SCER held a meeting in Sana'a on Wednesday co-chaired by chairman Khalid Abdul Wahab al Sharif and Education Minister Abdul Salam al Jawfi.

It was briefed on the draft executive mechanism for
selecting
the members of the commissions which will review and correct the voter rolls for
2010 from the Education Ministry. The mechanism was presented by heads of the
planning and
technical affairs, fatwa and legal affairs and parties and civil society sections.
It identified the roles and main tasks of the commission and ministry as well as
conditions
and standards for selecting those who will take part in the two processes of
reviewing and correcting the voter lists. A supervisory commission was formed to
implement the
mechanism headed by al Sharif and the membership of al Jawfi and the SCER members.
The mechanism also identified the tasks of the high supervisory and joint executive
committees
and recommended a technical team from the two committees should be formed to help
the joint executive committee. Also, the meeting reviewed the report submitted by
head of
parties and civil society section on the outcomes of following up the document of
electoral support project, the third stage. FR
