Joubert Strydom resigns from CSA

Durban, July 24 (PTI) Joubert Strydom, the convenor of South Africa's national selection cricket committee hasresigned from his post, citing personal and business reasons.

Cricket South Africa was not keen to relieve Strydom from his job but accepted the resignation and also thanked him for his contribution in the development of the game in thecountry.

C.S.A. in its statement said, "it had reluctantly accepted Joubert Strydom request to resign as Convenor fromNational selection Team for personal and business reasons".

Cricket South Africa C.E.O. Gerald Majola said, "We fully understand these reasons. C.S.A. would like to thank Joubert for his positive contribution to the progress of South African cricket and the Proteas. C.S.A. wishes him well for thefuture".

Majola also said that Strydom's resignation would take effect from the end of July and selection panel for the next season would be elected at the C.S.A. Annual General Meetingin Johannesburg on August 8.
