Foreign Ministry fully aware of guests list of Monday seminar

Tehran, Aug 3, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said on Tuesday that the invitations of the foreign-based Iranian expatriates occured with full coordination of the Foreign Ministry.

Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, Mehan-Parast made the remarks in reaction to allegations made on the invitation of certain opposition figures.

Gathering of a large number of Iranians living in foreign countries was held in Tehran Monday with participation of some senior Iranian officials.

Some 1,200 Iranians residing in different countries are attending the two-day event.

It was a magnificent gathering with participation of enthusiastic Iranians who love their country, the Islamic Revolution and its aspirations, Mehman-Parast added.

Referring to certain names as claimed to be invited in the event, he reiterated that such information was wrong and that the names of those individuals were not in the invitation list.

Monday's meeting was the best seminar held which indicated national solidarity as well as love for the country and the Revolution’s ideals, he said./end
