Japan, Australia to Hold EPA Talks in Tokyo Next Week
Tokyo, July 23 (Jiji Press)--Japan and Australia will hold talks on a bilateral economic partnership agreement in Tokyo from next Monday through Aug. 1, the Japanese government said Tuesday.
The upcoming talks are expected to focus on tariffs on beef anddiary products as agricultural trade remains the most contentious point of the EPA negotiations.
Australia has requested that Japan remove a tariff quota system for beef and diary products, while Japan remains strongly opposed to theabolition.
