Possibility of US attack in Mideast cannot be ruled out

Islamabad, July 31, IRNA -- Deputy Secretary-General of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan Fareed Paracha said here Friday that the possibility of a US attack on two Middle Eastern countries within 3 months cannot be ruled out.

Talking to IRNA he endorsed the statement of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad regarding the possibility of a US military strike on "at least two countries" in the Middle East.

“US is a country that can go any extent”, said Fareed Paracha.
President Ahmadinejad has also said that Iran had "very precise information that the Americans have hatched a plot, according to which they to wage a psychological war against Iran".

The Pakistani religious leader expressing his views said that the US has been interfering with the internal affairs of almost 200 countries in its over 200 year history.

“US wants to maintain its hegemony in the world”, he strongly believed, adding that the reports of American think-tanks also reveal that the US could launch an attack in Middle East.

Fareed Paracha stressed the need for Ummah unity which according to him is a key to success of Muslim countries.

“The world Muslim community should sink their differences and unite against the enemies of Islam”, he said, noting that "the enemies of Islam want to create discord among Muslims in the world ... So having unity is the most important need of the Islamic world,” the religious leader said.

Paracha noted that it is US policy to create unrest in Muslim countries.

Therefore “Muslims should unite to fight one enemy which is the US”, he suggested, urging world Muslims to come forward to safeguard their interests./end
