Japan peace center welcomes Iran’s nuclear motto

Tehran, July 25, IRNA – Executive Director of Hiroshima Peace Media Center Akira Tashiro welcomed Iran’s nuclear motto of “Nuclear Energy for All, Nuclear Weapon for No One.”

The nuclear motto was declared by Iran during the recent nuclear disarmament meeting in the country.

In an exclusive interview with an IRNA correspondent in Tokyo, Japan, Tashiro referred to the atomic bombings against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki which were conducted by the US during World War II in 1945.

Tashiro further said many of the correspondents, journalists and staff members of the Japanese Newspaper “Chugoku Shimbun “ were killed during the bombardments.

Pointing to the Hiroshima Peace Media Center (HPMC) located in the Chugoku headquarters, Tashiro said the activists at Chugoku have been calling for ensuring the peace worldwide since 1945.

Tashiro, and the Japanese officials including Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada, also welcomed the offer of formation of an anti-nuclear-weapon journalists’ assembly.

The offer was made by the IRNA correspondent during the interview.

According to this, all journalists, reporters and correspondents can join the assembly aiming to fight nuclear arms around the world./end
