Commerce chamber urged to focus on int'l cooperation
Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) should focus on international cooperation and trade-investment consultancy services to help businesses expand their market and increase their overseas prestige.
The advice was given by standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Truong Tan Sang while working with the VCCI in Hanoi on July21.
Sang urged the VCCI to participate in accelerating administrative reform and industrial and commercial restructuring, as well as assisting small andmedium enterprises.
He also praised the organisation's dynamism and creativeness, as well as its activities representing the Vietnamese business community and efforts toprove itself the country's largest trade promotion centre.
He said he believed that the VCCI will meet local businesses' demand and well play its role as chair of the ASEAN Chamber of Commerce and Industrynext year.
VCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc said over the past five years, the Vietnamese business community has ceaselessly developed in both quality and line-up, with improved efficiency and competitiveness, thus playing a keyrole in the country's economic development and international integration.
In the future, Loc said, the VCCI will expand its business support network, boost trade and investment promotion activities and make its technical infrastructure on a par with regional level.-Enditem
