CA determined to see pro-reform, democratic government after December polls


DHAKA, Bangladesh, July 19 (BSS) - Chief Adviser of Bangladesh caretaker government Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed today reiterated his determination that a pro-reform and democratic government would take the responsibility of running the state after the general elections to be held in December this year.

"It is the responsibility of all to implement whatever has
been reflected through the Road Show across the country for
building a prosperous and democratic Bangladesh," he said while
addressing as the chief guest the concluding ceremony of the 50-
day campaign here.

Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed also spoke on the occasion
as the special guest while Agriculture Adviser Dr CS Karim was in
the chair. Agriculture Secretary M Abdul Aziz gave the address of
welcome.

Advisers, Special Assistants to the Chief Adviser,
politicians, high civil and military officials, media and
cultural personalities as well as students were also present on
the occasion.

Baul signers in their usual style welcomed the Chief Adviser
when he entered the auditorium of the BCFCC. The closing ceremony
was followed by a cultural show participated by the country's
eminent artistes.

The colourful ceremony was held at the Bangladesh-China
Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC), marking the successful
ending of the country's first ever such campaign that awakened
the nation with the main slogan "Eso Bangladesh Gorhi."

The Road Show focused issues like food security, changing
food habit, building honest and competent leadership, resisting
corruption, freeing Bangladesh from crime and terrorism,
encouraging ICT and telecom sector and flourishing tourism in the
country.
