TURKISH-FRENCH TRADE FORUM KICKS OFF IN ISTANBUL


ISTANBUL (A.A) - 15.06.2010 - "Turkey-France Trade Forum" started in Istanbul under the cooperation of Turkey's Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and France's Agency for International Trade (UBIFRANCE). 
Hasan Colakoglu, the Chairperson of DEIK/Turkish-French Business Council, expressed Turkey's eagerness to take place more in French market while addressing the opening of the forum.
"Turkey, which has accessed Customs Union in 1996 and became a part of Europe's economic system, is willing to establish maximum economic integration with France, one of the most developed market economies of the world," Colakoglu said.
He said France ranked the 3rd biggest investor country in Turkey with 5 billion USD, "number of French-capital companies acting in Turkey reached 800. There are still opportunities for small and medium scale French companies to invest in Turkey."
The trade forum meeting brings together Turkish and French businesspeople.
The Turkish-French Forum the biggest ever trade event between the two countries, is held by Turkey's DEIK and the France's UBIFRANCE. 
The forum is set to host over 150 French businesspeople and it is expected to be major venue for business deals between Turkey and France. 
The Turkish and French businesspeople are also expected to hold talks in a view to seek business opportunities in third countries.
