CBY governor: Yemen's external debts are in safe side

SANA'A, July 17 (Saba)- Governor of Central Bank of Yemen Ahmed
al-Samawi renewed on Wednesday that the external debts of Yemen
still in the safe side.Debts of Yemen were drooped from $ 11.4
billion in 1996 to $ 5.8 billion in 2007, al-Samawi said.

He made it clear that Yemen is among countries that have low
external debts in the world, saying that the bank has strategy of
rescheduling debts.

Last week, the Japanese government announced that it decided to
cancel $17 million from Yemen's previous debts.
