Iran strongly stands up to threats, sanctions : 1st VP

Tabriz, May 30, IRNA -- The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly stood up to threats and sanctions imposed by the enemies, First Vice- President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters, Rahimi said, “We do our best to attract foreign investors to invest in East Azarbaijan province to help reach economic boom and development."

The region has great capacity to turn into a tourist and agricultural pole of the country, he said.

Rahimi said that the big powers attempted to prevent the country from path of progress and economic development by imposing eight-year devastating war with Iraq (1980-1988).

He said that reconstruction activities of the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is remarkable./end
