AZERBAIJAN, RUSSIA DISCUSS MILITARY AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION

Baku, May 11 (AzerTAc). Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Safar Abiyev has met today with visiting Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdyukov to discuss prospects for military and technical cooperation between the two countries.
The sides also exchanged views on the current political and military situation in the region and Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Abiyev said the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs must increase efforts to resolve the conflict, as, he added, “they give no results”.
He noted all efforts must be directed towards peaceful resolution of the conflict, “otherwise the undesirable situation may arise in the region.”
Prior to the meeting, Serdyukov visited the Alley of Honors to pay respect to national leader Heydar Aliyev and the Alley of Martyrs to pay tribute to shahids who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan`s independence.
