MOSCOW CELEBRATES 65th ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY IN GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Moscow, May 9 (AzerTAc). Russia`s capital Moscow is hosting celebrative events marking the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is attending the festivities.
The Azerbaijani leader was welcomed in front of the Kremlin by his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.
The highlight of the celebrations was a an annual military parade in the Red Square.
This year`s parade featured nearly 12,000 troops from a number of countries, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the United States, United Kingdom, France and Poland, as well as over 160 tanks and ballistic missiles and over 120 aircraft.
The celebration was attended by heads of state and government from 21 countries as well as heads of international organizations and veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Following the parade, a wreath was laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, at the Kremlin Wall in the Alexander Garden, on behalf of the heads of state and government. The distinguished guests also posed for photographs together.
