AZERI DELEGATION ATTENDS 13TH EURASIA ECONOMIC SUMMIT IN ISTANBUL
Baku, May 6 (AzerTAc). Chief of socio-political department of Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov, members of government and parliament participate in the 13th Eurasia Economic Summit started in Istanbul, Turkey.
The event brought together political figures, diplomats and businessmen from 40 countries including President Bamir Topi of Albania and President Gjorge Ivanov of Macedonia. The summit was organized by Turkey`s Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation.
The letter of President of Turkey Abdulla Gul was read out to the summit participants. Mr. Hasanov also read out a congratulatory letter of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to the summit participants. Chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation Akkan Suver briefed on significance of the summit. He said Azerbaijan `takes a special place` in economic forums of the countries of Eurasia.
The participants told of significance of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum projects in the world`s energy security and Azerbaijan`s hydrocarbon resources in Europe`s energy needs.
The summit will feature discussions on a wide range of issues, including energy security, unemployment, tourism, intercultural dialogue, processes taking place in the Caucasus, Middle East and Central Asia, prospects of cooperation in elimination of global financial crisis.
The Nabucco Project will be also a key issue of the agenda.
