COE DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL TO VISIT AZERBAIJAN
Baku, May 5 (AzerTAc). Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer-Buquicchio will arrive in the capital of Azerbaijan to attend the 7th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Equality between women and men to be held on May 24-25.
The main theme of the Conference will be “Gender equality: bridging the gap between de jure and de facto equality”.
The attendees will also discuss sub-themes on combating gender stereotypes: the role of education and the media, and positive action and gender mainstreaming to achieve de facto gender equality.
The conference is expected to end with adoption of Action Plan and Joint Declaration.
