AZERBAIJAN, IRAN DISCUSS SECURITY ISSUES
Baku, May 4 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani minister of national security and Iran`s interior minister have today met to exchange views over bilateral security cooperation.
Eldar Mahmudov and Mostafa Mohammad Najjar met in Baku.
Mahmudov said developing the bilateral relations and cooperation would serve to strengthen common security.
“It will contribute to our joint fight against crime and terrorism.”
Mahmudov also touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying “it is a source of a number of threats, in particular terrorism and illegal drugs haul in the region”.
Najjar stressed the importance of reciprocal meetings and visits, saying they contribute to “developing our security cooperation”.
