CHIEF OF AZERBAIJAN INVESTMENT COMPANY REPORTS ON COUNTRY`S ECONOMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN LOS-ANGELES
Los Angeles, April 30 (AzerTAc). Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Investment Company Afgan Isayev attended a Milken Institute Global Conference. A special “roundtable” on “Using Energy Wealth to Develop the Non-Oil Sector: The Azerbaijan Success Story” was organized to present Azerbaijan.
Addressing the meeting, Isayev noted that thanks to the deliberate long-term development strategy of the government, Azerbaijan`s economy grew in 2009 and continues to develop in 2010 in spite of the global economic crisis. He told of successful economic reforms and government`s policy to diversify the economy. He underlined President Ilham Aliyev places emphasis on development of agriculture, alternative energy sources, tourism, production and new technologies.
During the visit, Afgan Isayev held a seminar for representatives of California`s leading companies. The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Investment Company in association with Ministry of Economic Development and Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los-Angeles.
The Milken Institute is an independent economic think tank that publishes research and host conferences that apply market-based principles and financial innovations to a variety of societal issues in the US and internationally
